Technology - Units

* Invention:
We had to invent a machine where it would be useful for people in this world to use. For me, I went through the design cycle to help me out. First of all I planned it on paper, where I would draw the way it would look like. But before that, we had to research the background information on the topic that we chose to do. After we had to describe how the invention will work and the new features that are added and to describe the advantages and disadvantages of the new invention. Not only this but we had to go through pricing, questionnaire and analyzing. For the questionnaire we had to hand it to about 10 people and we had to make a chart from it. The fun part was to actually designing the way it would look through photo shop.

* TV Commercial:
For this unit, we worked in groups of about four people in each. We chose a topic to advertize about such as Tampico, puma, sports, and my group advertized about LCS sports. We had to go through difficult process such as having to get everybody to do the same amount of work, communication and teamwork. Some people could videotape their commercial while some people just had a slideshow of pictures. We used the imovie program to make our TV commercial, it had to be simple but attracting so people would not get bored as it is a TV commercial.

* Pod Casting- Interesting thing that happened in my life:
For pod casting, we had to talk about the interesting thing that happened in our life. We first had to plan on what we would say while recording. After we used garage band to record. Everybody had to be quiet to record, which was one of the difficulties. While recording we could add songs for the intro, the end and add sound effects. After we are done recording, we had to export it to mp3 file so we could listen to it.

* Blog:
For this unit, we were to create our blog where other people from our class could visit. But before we make the blog we had to have a gmail account and had to get invited by the teacher. We could have our picture for the profile and had to talk about us individuals. We were to also upload our inventions where people could see and comment about it.

* Game Making- Educational:
We had to make an educational game through any of the programs we would like to use. But before we had to research the different types of educational game there are and how they are created. For my case, I used power point and used a lot of hyperlink to make my game possible. Other people used other programs to make their educational game and after we were done making, we could try their game and comment on them.

* Pod Casting- Yearbook:
For this unit as well, we were in groups and had to pick one of the topics in our school, which we could talk about for the 2009 yearbook. We used garage band as well to create the pod casting. We recorded with our own voice while some people used the voices used in the computer. Also after we were done recording, we had to export it to mp3 file.
